Frequently Asked Questions
How do I enrol in the program?
To enrol in our program you would need to make contact with your medical aid to enquire about their back and neck rehabilitation benefits available to you. Please see the next question if you don’t have medical aid. Alternatively, you’re welcome to contact our administrators on (021) 461-2457 who would be happy to walk you through the enrolment process.
How does paying for the program work?
We are happy to work with both medical aid patients and private patients. FxHealth is contracted in to most medical aids, who will cover the program in full (on the condition that you complete your program). We also have private rates available to individuals who are not members of the contracted medical aids. If you would like more detailed information, please contact our administrators on (021) 461-2457 who would be happy to explain your options.
Where are your FxHealth practices based?
We have two FxHealth practices in Cape Town, one in the CBD and one in the Northern Suburbs.

What sort of documentation should I bring to my first session?
Prior to your first session with us, you will be asked to complete all questionnaires emailed to you. This will allow for a seamless assessment process.
To your first session, please bring with you:
- all relevant x-ray and pathology reports (as well as recent reports form clinicians whom you have received treatment from in the past)
- your medical aid card, identity document and medical aid authorisation letter (if applicable)
What should I wear to my sessions?
It is best to wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement to your physiotherapy sessions with us. Please refrain from high heels, dresses, pantsuits or other tight-fitting clothing.
How long does each session last?
Each contact session with the practice is one hour. Please make sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to your initial assessment to familiarise yourself with our practice location and layout and to complete any outstanding documentation.
How do I get the best outcomes out of my program?
We believe that by following your individual program as closely as possible, you will receive the most benefit from your time with us. Please consider your time carefully. You will need to make a 3–6-week commitment to your health. Consider this when scheduling your evaluation and treatment.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. All our treatments and evaluations are done strictly by appointment. If you are unable to make your appointment, please contact our administrators 24-hours in advance to allow other clients on the waiting list the opportunity to receive treatment. A no-show or cancellation fee will be applicable should you not honour your appointment without 24-hour’s notice.
Do you have a COVID-19 policy?
Yes. The health of everyone entering our practices is our first priority, thus, we continue to follow all COVID-19 prevention protocols. We practice WHO sanitising practices of all spaces, surfaces, furniture, and equipment. Please note, it is vital to notify our rooms if you are not feeling well so that we may reschedule your appointment.
